Evoke Management | Employee Engagement is the new big problem, but it isn’t really a new problem, it’s just a rebrand of a very old one. The employee / employer relationship has fundamental rules that mean it will always be in a delicate balance and have conflicting objectives - this is universal, and when this is imbalanced you either have a failing business or a disengaged workforce. Gurus the world over will tell you that the solution to disengagement is better salaries, better work-life balance, better ping-pong paddles, or better whatever they happen to be selling that month. But the truth is, most of these things are true somewhere, and to someone, and to some extent. The difficulty, as a business leader, is knowing which one is relevant to your people at any given moment. This talk explains how to get that information, and why most companies have failed so far (average engaged employee rate is only 11%).
